1) Organizational Capacity Building and Training

  • mobile video show shown seven times

  • development and rights’ booklet is produced and distributed in the schools

  • 105 teachers, head masters and school management committee members participated in teacher training
  • 36 women representatives participated in a capacity building training
  • 48 VDC political leaders took part in a capacity building training
  • 54 group leaders participated in human resources development programme
  • 141 women participated in gender awareness and paralegal training
  • child club members participated in multiple training seminars and workshops

2) Agro-Ecosystem and Biodiversity Management

  • three forest nurseries established in local communities
  • 60,000 tree saplings planted in private and community lands, and school compound areas
  • study conducted on botanical bio-diversity in MDO project area
  • study conducted on herbal and aromatic plants in Panchase forest
  • study on Panchase-Phewa Lake ecological belt to develop project concept for Panchase Area Development Organisation (PADO)
  • 5 km long compound stone-wall constructed
  • 6 km community trails repaired and/or constructed


3) Diversified Incomes and Energy Sources

  • more than 161 saving and credit groups are formed
  • groups are actively working in the field of saving and credit & increasing their income (loan policy, investment, vegetable and fruit farming etc)
  • 4 solar energy plant is installed
  • 192 bio gas plants are installed
  • 2500 improved cooking stoves are distributed in the community


4) Community Rights, Health and Welfare

  • 27 drinking water projects (partial supports like materials, grants and training)
  • 2200 toilets are constructed in the community
  • village clean up campaigns are being regularly conducted once in a month
  • 28 rubbish bin are distributed in schools and community
  • 84 stretchers are distributed to each village development committee
  • VDC periodic planning (based on four years time frame) is conducted
  • five community based organizations (CBOs) are formed and registered with Kaski District office
  • PRA survey of four VDCs and updated VDC data of five VDCs are conducted in Kaski district
  • 500 male and female participants participated in parent orientation and education programme conducted in nine centres
  • childrens’ nutritional and weight measurements conducted three times yearly
  • 35 child clubs formed and actively working with school hygiene and sanitation
  • 35 toilets are constructed and drinking water is provided each school
  • weekly awareness raising campaigns conducted: hand washing, toilet promotion in the community, school compound clean up and oral rehydration are conducted in most project area school
